At the Least Of These Foundation, our goal is to increase the income, visibility and self-worth of unhoused and impoverished artists by selling copies of their art on their behalf, returning the proceeds to the individual artists, as well as working with them to help ensure that they have access to resources and materials to improve their own lives and the lives of others of their community.

Zach is 34 and lives on the streets in Portland. He’s also my friend.
We met just after the Foundation began. Since then, we’ve spent time together every week: talking, drawing, and building something real. Zach is an artist with a raw, cartoon-driven style that reflects his life and perspective. He’s also a Java programmer working on a game he hopes to publish one day.

The Least Of These Foundation all started with Cody.
A man outside a grocery store in Seattle, drawing with nothing but pencil and persistence. I saw his work and stopped. I saw him and stayed.
What followed was simple: a conversation, a small act, a refusal to let someone disappear. Cody told me he had been thinking about ending his life. I told him he mattered.
He turned that moment into art.
This platform exists to carry that same truth forward: that every person matters, every story matters, and sometimes all it takes is being seen to change everything.
